Maso a Kobliha, the latest creation of Sansho chef Paul Day, is a pub & butcher’s just a few steps from its sister restaurant Sansho.

 

It serves a fun menu inspired by pub classics using meat only from Czech heritage animals, alongside great craft beers and homemade sweets. While we build our menu around heritage meat from our The Real Meat Society butcher’s, we also offer sandwiches with bread baked in-house by one of the best bakers in the city – Maškrtnica – alongside a number of vegetarian options as well. Our bar serves draft beers from Matuška, one of the most celebrated family-owned Czech craft breweries, as well as draft cider. And we make what we think is the best kobliha (Czech doughnut) in the country, filled to the brim with fresh vanilla cream – plus other homemade sweets.

Inside the pub is a branch of The Real Meat Society butcher’s, offering selections from slow-grown, dry-aged, heritage meat from local Czech farmers, and where we apply our whole animal philosophy.

Our butcher shop is stocked with plenty of meat products, many prepared on-site: stocks, rillettes, pâté, terrines, ham, our famous sausages, homemade lardo, our seasonal wine sausage, three kinds of bacon, burger patties from dry-aged beef, lamb kofta, and meatloaf. We also have cuts of our dry-aged heritage beef. We recommend you ask our butcher about our monthly Meat Box offers, each containing a new assortment of choice cuts, sausages and other goodies with easy-to-follow recipes for home.
